THE place to donate your furniture - San Diego Furniture Bank
- Posted by Merrilee on December 11th, 2007, in Public Information
OK, this is WAAAAYYY cool. The SD Furniture Bank has opened its doors and is accepting donations of furniture, electronics & appliances. They will come, assess your donations, and pick them up. (They are not accepting items in bad shape.) Then the Fire Families can contact them and get all the furniture they need!! They are asking for small donations here and there (like $20 for hauling, etc.) but the fire families have no charge for anything. They’re also going to open this up to military and low-income families which is amazing.
SO - check your houses, garages, and storage places. Now is the time to clean them out and donate to the Fire Families and the needy!!!
(Fire families - give him about a week to get set up and then you can go shopping!!!

I have been assisting many groups, volunteering and donating for some time now.I have been in contact with the man responsible for this awesome effort.I emailed the website to certain people I am in contact with but didnt have an email address for you.
I am very pleased to see this information made it your way and is posted here. Its a great idea.
I hope we can do the same thing with household items. Finding a suitable location and the means to do it is the challenge.
Thanks for all your efforts.
